Looking at doing the most important stuff for the 2021 TJ Fest in Moab and don't currently have any armor for the oil pan.
So, what I have now is an enhanced (welded in extra side-to-side structural ribs) Teraflex belly-up skid plate https://www.extremeterrain.com/tera...INbg3hcqH6e32u5OD6hoClbYQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds but have no other undercarraige armor.
Want to protect the sensitive squishy bits as much as possible so I'm now looking at oil pan armor.
After some research, I'm looking at the Metalcloak and Teraflex skid plates. The Teraflex (https://teraflex.com/shop_items/tj-4-0l-oil-pan-skid-plate-kit) is marginally cheaper but I kinda like the design of the MC better (https://metalcloak.com/oil-pan-skid-plate-for-4-0l-jeep-tj-lj.html). The TF has what appears to be a completely unnecessary hole in the middle and a somewhat odd support arm design whereas the MC seems much more straightforward.

Opinions? Other options?

Much thanks, TJH

Hitting your oil pan is fairly unlikely in Moab, but it is always good to have protection. I ran the teraflex for a few years and had no issues. When it comes to oil pan skids that aren’t attached to to the transfer case skid, most are roughly the same. Before you drop money into an oil pan skid, I’d look at those that attach to the transfer case skid such as the savvy or UCF. Otherwise the rest are similar and I’d go with whatever is cheapest.

Savvy and ucf are also other options to look at. Both can be mounted using factory or aftermarket belly skids. They require a few holes to be drilled but it's an easy install.

Why don't they make em the way they did (do) for the 258 oil pan? I've smashed the hell out of them and managed to get a seep out of only 1.

I have a old one from Rokmen, Has been on two different jeeps now. One with stock belly pan and now on a Nth belly pan. Just takes some extra holes and or grinder adjustment.

Thanks, guys!
Will definitely go for one that mounts to the belly pan. Liking the idea of an aluminum one so will be sure to check out the Savvy.

Another vote for Savvy

The MC and TF version I would stay away from. It wouldn't take much for the corner of one to catch on a rock and be ripped off, or to even come down hard and crack the block. A surfboard type allows you to slide
