The 3/8" clevis pins came in from McMaster-Carr this morning. They are always spot on - I ordered them yesterday afternoon.
They work great. Very easy to insert and remove.
And here is the jack in action. The 8-ton jack lifts the rig easily.
Now I'll paint the hold-downs and look for space to fit all this inside of the rig.
Say what you will about the high-lift, but it takes up zero space inside the rig...

Very nice. So, what's it all weigh compared to the 29 lb high lift? Less I assume. And of course, what performance and mileage gains are you anticipating with the weight reduction?

The jack and extensions came in at 14 pounds. The base was right at 3, for a total of 17. So a 12 pound reduction compared to the high lift.
But to get the jack and the base into the back of the rig, I had to loose a couple of quarts of motor oil that I usually carry - so that offset the addition of the base…

One final touch on this project. Today I broke out the sewing machine and made a canvas storage sack for the jack extensions. All the pieces fit nicely, and this keeps everything together.
