I’m marginally skilled, but real talkative, so I could probably convince someone as dumb as myself that I did a good job.
Semantics aside, the front fender turn signal is the least attractive aesthetic on what was otherwise a really nice play on the CJ-7 lines, which is what I think the designers were referencing but who knows.
As I type this, it makes me wonder why or if there was never an alternative “stockish” fender made that gave owners another route, beyond all the tubes and flat fenders and so forth.
I too build for a living, so I know the feeling and satisfaction of solving challenges.
If you do it, be sure to post it...we haven’t seen this idea to my knowledge.

Yes! It’s it worth upgrading my Ortofon Blue to a Ortofon Black on my Shinola Runwell turntable? Although made by VPI the tonearm is not at the level of the Memorial so It may be an unnoticed upgrade?
Thank you for the encouragement! The Jeep is a 2 hour drive from my house so that is my biggest obstacle. If I’m able to get there as the body guy is doing the other items I’m confident I can do the fab work and it would look factory. Fingers crossed.
What? They sold more records then Cd’s last year. Turntables have been the fastest growing segment of the electronics market for over a decade.
Plus they sound better.
Nice setup. I’m running the same cart on a Clear Audio Concept. I have thought about upgrading to the black for a few years now and probably will when I run out of stuff to upgrade. If I was you, I would upgrade just for the color matching.
This. Some people just don’t understand the joy of rolling your own. If it works and YOU like it, awesome! If it ends up looking like shit, at least you tried.

Thank you. The Concept is a beautiful table as well. I was planning on getting the Hana ML but the lack of VTA adjustability creates issues with the Hana’s. So now it’s keep it stock or get the Ortofon Black special edition.
Shinola made a lot of promises about all the upgradeability when I got it a few years ago but that was all smoke and mirrors I guess because there has not been one thing. The even pulled the acrylic cover before it went into production.
Too bad because I would have been happy to have done a few upgrades by now.

Not warmer they just lack digital fatigue. I can only stream or listen to a CD for a max of about an hour because of digital fatigue but I can listen to vinyl all day.

The only way it would look good is fab a fender that follows the same contour of flare instead of filling in a blank spot

As far as the Jeep. It's your Jeep, do as you wish. I'm all about fabricating too but some things. Other things I think should be left alone asthetically but yea post pics! I don't think neither brilliant nor crazy fit what this is about either way. Figure whatever you do it can always be undone. Time & money.

That would be essential, I agree, if the flares went all the way to the front like on a CJ but with my design they will be further back. More like a Land Rover Defender.
