Broken code reader connector

Got in my tj with boots and bumped bracket with the code reader connector.

The plastic bkoke on the mount bracket and body of connector.

What a bad location and easy to hit getting in and out

So what are the options for repair or replacement?

I have it taped/ covered and pulled out of the way

Can you replace the OEM connector and bracket

Can you get a pigtail or can you get a adapter block that would plug into the OEM and the use it if yiu need to plug in the code reader?

Appreciate any experience with this repair

I just replaced my connector with this one a couple months ago. There was another member here that did it too that supplied the link.

If it’s broken so much that your not sure where which wire goes, there are factory service manuals here in the resources forum. The wiring diagram section should map out the pin locations.

Relocate it so it is pointing down just above the panel to prevent from happening.

Just re-pinned a new connector onto mine last weekend, was a lot easier than I thought it would be, when I was done I bent the bracket farther back up under the dash

Just did the same this afternoon. Got into the jeep while wearing my motorcycle boots and kicked it, breaking it.

How hard was it to de-pin the OEM connector?

Mine re-pinned really easy, didn't even need the wire pick set.
Just do o e wire at a time pay close attention to which wire goes in which slot since there are lots of open holes in the connector

You had to say that...

A couple of my pins were so corroded they disintegrated. I ordered an ODB connector pigtail on Amazon and used the existing connector...just replaced several wires and pins.

Replacement connector arrived from Amazon this afternoon. I'll try to tackle this tomorrow.
