Bronco time

Depending on what you want it for, it’s sounding pretty good. I don’t think it’s a wrangler killer but will probably get a bit of the market (those that aren’t looking for moderate wheeling).

Being a Ford though, I hope it has the truck fit and finish and not the sedan/suv that feels so cheap.

I’ll forgo the live front axle, it’s going to be built on the ranger chassis so I think fit and finish will be good.

I wouldn’t use it like my Jeep, but I’d use it a little harder than I do my f150 which I honestly don’t need anymore.

And I’m a Ford guy. 😉

I would love to own one after more leaked specs. 7 speed manual with a crawler first gear, lockers on both ends, sway bar disco, factory 315’s.....and the 2.3 eco. It should be a killer.
That sounds very promising - esp. the granny 1st! Any idea of cost though? Will it be available in an electronics free version - or at least "electronics light"?

Same. I like ford as a whole. This is going to be a god send for them. Jeep really missed the mark with the gladiator, and this is going to steal some thunder from wrangler. Will it kill it? No, but it will steal some sales that will hurt...pretty bad.

Don't worry, there will be an aftermarket "kit" available within six months.

The question is how much? I know converting my 03 Tacoma to a solid front axle is copious amounts of money. Assuming I paid someone to do the work for me (which is a lot of work), it's around 8-10k, and that's with leaf springs!

You're right though. Someone is going to be quick to convert it to a solid axle, I have no doubt.

I'm sure that a reasonably optioned Bronco with basic aftermarket modifications to make it work better as an overlander will burn through $60K. Still, I'm very tempted to place an order.

Time to load the checkbook.
If you have seen the color list what color are you leaning towards? They have some very nice color options

I did my SAS on my 4Runner for around 4K, but yeah, 8-10k is about right with a fully built axle. Mine was leaf too. It’s not hard but not cheap.

The vans I’ve been looking at are about 10k to convert, but this included a full 4x4 from 2wd conversion.

I personally see the new Bronco as more of a in-between from say, a 4Runner which takes a lot of money to get it far off-road to a Jeep, which will be king of hardcore but never a great riding/handling daily.

look at rangers for pricing. Add 5k or so for off-road packages.

Yes, and to be 100% honest, the majority of the people who buy the Bronco aren't going to be using it for rock crawling (just like JL owners), so I think IFS is just fine for 99% of owners.

It looks like Land Rover LR3/4 but the size of an LR2 with better departure angles. 2.3L Turbo 4 cylinder AWD 10 speed trans, fuel economy with an EPA combined rating of 23 mpg. Wonder what tank size they're going with?
