I strongly dislike car payments, but I could be persuaded to own one if I fit. Hopefully it can accommodate taller drivers unlike the 5 EBs I previously owned.
$500 plus a month is the new norm for a car payment. It's no big deal, you can swing it![]()
You don’t need the first one off the assembly line. Won’t be until this time next year anyway save up!I strongly dislike car payments, but I could be persuaded to own one if I fit. Hopefully it can accommodate taller drivers unlike the 5 EBs I previously owned.
That statistic always surprises me, but I only ever buy used.
I’ve always put vehicles in the same category as my toys, you don’t need them if you can’t pay for them. It's amazing, but somehow the average American consumer seems to have justified $500 plus a month and now 84 month auto loans.
Blows my mind!

You can buy a decent vehicle for under 5k why finance on for $50k? I hate paying a mortgage every month, I sure don’t need more payments.

But the interest deduction (sarcasm)That’s the only debt I don’t mind, but am seriously excited for the day we pay it off.
Come pick my ass up in your new Bronco Mr. Bills !!!I'm sure that a reasonably optioned Bronco with basic aftermarket modifications to make it work better as an overlander will burn through $60K. Still, I'm very tempted to place an order.
Time to load the checkbook.
Way more people out there than just Mr. Cuban preaching that haha. It’s common sense stuff. If you have to make payments you don’t need it. I fell into that trap also and glad I’m out of that mindset now. I’ll never have a car payment again. And to think some are making payments on a tjI agree with you 100%.
Mark Cuban had said, "If you can't afford to buy it with cash, you shouldn't buy it in the first place.".
The exception he said of course was a house.
That's my thing with the TJ. I can have just as much fun in a old, cheap TJ as I can in a brand new JL, so why do I need to spend 50k for a brand new one?
But the interest deduction (sarcasm)
I told someone who was giving me the old interest deduction spiel, I said give me $10,000 today and in a year I’ll give you back $2,000. He wouldn’t take the deal.I'm pushing to pay our house off early. My wife likes to talk about the interest deduction, but all I hear are fingernails on a chalkboard.
Yea, I know. I can be a dreaming fool at times...It will be, count on it.
