I bought my '06 Rubicon with a Barricade Trail Force front bumper installed. The bottom plate is angled back under the frame cross tube for good reason, however, I'm having a hard time finding a steering box skid plate that will fit the box to frame mounting bolt(s) and the angled bumper plate at the same time without cutting and welding the bumper mounting plate to fit. The bumper to frame tab also presents a problem with the tab preventing the skid plate from mounting directly to the frame, thereby misaligning the box mounting bolt holes. Are there any choices to avoid the work involved with doing a custom fabrication??

I have the Barnes skid under a Cavfab bumper. IIRC, I just used the single bumper/frame bolt on the front lip and a single box bolt, and the bumper's lower flange is between the skid and the frame horn with no alignment issue.
I see that's a nice fit. Unfortunately, my bottom bumper lip is tilted up about 30 degrees toward the front. Didn't realize when I bought it that there is an inherent problem with Barricades.
You're saying its at an angle under the frame horn? Is the bolt tab not flat?

Looking in the photos of people who purchased that bumper, looks like you could install one and not worry about the angle.
You might need to post a pic of the underside of the bumper.

You've got a bumper that works as it should. I was hoping to find a plate that would through bolt to the steering box from outside the frame, to the bottom of the frame at the bumper support tab, and the underside of the bumper all at the same time. The bumper angle is the problem. Looks like it's time to break out the rosebud.

Oh yea! And that location is flat, but most of the plates bolt to underside of the bumper as well. I was hoping to find a plate that would do that. You have the same bumper setup as I do. How many bolts are holding it? I'll post a picture.
I just have the one bolt in up front for now. Easy enough to get a short piece of scrap angle and make a little bracket to the bumper or rail for the other hole if you wanted.
I appreciate your reply. Kinda suspected I'd have to break out either the torch or the stinger, or both. I was just wondering, with so many of those bumpers out there if any had one factory made. Thanks.
You got the generic Jeep bumper that doesn't do anything well.
I'm figuring that out. My matching rear bumper should have had built-in LED reverse lights to fix that problem as well.
