Burnt wires

OK so I'm an idiot for not paying attention ... smoked some wires behind the dash that go to the 2 cig liter plugs, the o/d off switch, the lockers switch, and some lights I've wired separately... they all go to a white flat plug near the steering colum .. is that harness unobtainium or does some one have a lead where to source
Thanks in advance... digging into it in the morning .. had to take the day off .. scared to reconnect the battery till I go thru all the affected wiring

yuck. You can find harnesses, but whether or not you can find one for your year quickly enough will be the challenge. I would probably be inclined to remove the dash and replace the wires one by one. I found a place that sells short lengths of wire with pretty much whatever color+trace you need. I only needed one such wire and it was like $5. If you need a lot, that could get expensive.

Yeah thats what I'm intending in the morning ... looking at a junk yard listing .. the dash harness is 300 plus so I'll see how bad and if anything else is fried and go from there

I got a 12v socket to plug in a dash cam ... wired it to existing wires from a former 12v socket... had the cam plugged in but it didn't cut off over night so I unplugged it and plugged in my phone charger and the interior lights went dim ... pulled it out and the center of the socket was glowing and smoke started pouring from behind the dash ... pulled the battery wire .. no fire .. thank the Lord .. wondering why the fuse didn't blow as it was factory wiring that I connected to ... it should have been fused

OK so I dl the pdf service manual .. here's a screenshot ... looks like s207 is the effected wiring ... not sure if it unplugged from the rest of the harness but will find out in 8-10hrs

TRIPLE CHECK the fuses. I had an unrequested smoke release that was because the PO put a 20A fuse on a 5 or 10A circuit and the wires weren’t rated to handle that load.

Funny thing is I fixed the short that was causing the fuse to blow, but the fix allowed some other problem to turn into big time heat that the correct size fuse would’ve caught. So yeah, check everything.
