I am going to have to replace the camshaft on my 2005 LJ 4.0L. The gear has gotten worn from OPDA. After using a scope and looking at the cam gear, it is worn. I have already installed a new OPDA.
From other research I have done it appears that the engine will have to be completely taken apart. Mostly to change the cam bearings. Is this what other people have experienced? I would appreciate any input others may have on this dilemma.
