I’ve got a 5 1/4 lift and everyone says you have to have a double cardan shaft with sye I’m just wondering if I get airborne could my driveshaft fall out or is the whole set up just to eliminate vibrations?

By airborne I mean don’t mean flying 100feet just bouncing off a rock or something and limiting out my control arms can my driveshaft fall out?
I don’t know if you’re being sarcastic or not……..When you get in the air and your axles travel all the way down

What happens when you hang the axle off of the shocks and try to turn the drive shaft by hand?
If you care to gain some greater certainly about the driveshaft's range of motion, you would disconnect it at the pinion, hang the axle from the shocks, and try to bolt it on, turn it 90°, and try bolting it on again. If either or both of those positions do not let you bolt the driveshaft on, then you have exceeded the range of motion of the driveshaft and you ought to address it.
On the opposite end, you would remove the coil springs from the axle and bring it up to full shock compression and see what the driveshaft does.
No vibes whatsoever I’m just curious why everybody says you can’t run that big of lift on a stock driveshaft I’ve been doing it for years
More than a few out there don't recognize when there is a problem to be addressed.
Curiosity I guess …..haven’t had my wheels off the ground since I built it….everybody and their brother who knows anything should know the answer to this question but I don’t ….it’s pretty straightforward could my driveshaft fall out
Possible, yes. People used to say the rear driveshaft would fall out with a 4" lift and no SYE. It's never happened to me or anyone I've ever known.
