Can't get wheel adapter off

I’ll add some loctite. It makes sense that it’s half insurance on a part that is hidden and difficult to deal with if there is a problem.

Looking at the research, as long as certain criteria are met a spacer is as safe as no spacer. Things like spacer quality, aircraft grade Al, hub centric, proper torque.

My son and I talked this over this morning and he reminded me that as we were putting the nuts on the stock studs we had to be careful to keep everything centered, or else you’d get to one where the nut was not centered on the stud. These were Titan spacers. It may not be true for all. I can see where human error could creep in there.

As long as you're not running the nuts on to full torque off the get-go, the tapered seat of the lug nut will center the spacer (and / or the wheel) on the hub. Thus the argument about lug-centric vs Hub-Centric. The first lugnut will start the process, the second nut will get it probably 95% centered, and by the time you get the third one on there, physics says the adapter or wheel MUST be central to the hub. Note, this is also a good reason to skip every other lug as you go around the bolt circle.

Get a Breaker bar at least 36 inches long put a impact socket on it, Get a sledge hammer.

Get a length of steel tubing about 6 ft long insert breaker bar into tube.

Find the biggest guy you can to leverage long breaker bar once on the nut have them lean into the steel tube with all their weight.

Once the weight is on the bar hit the breaker bar with the sledger hammer at the impact socket like your are trying to hammer the socket on to the lug nut.

If you cannot get a good bite on the nut when he puts his weight on it get a 12inch extension and a jack stand.

Get the bar on the nut then raise the jackstand to support the extension at the breaker bar extension area

It will come loose.

You're a few days behind. He already got them off, and back on. NOW the discussion is whether or not to Loctite.
 
I've been running Titan spacers with blue loctite for over 15 years and 250K miles with no issues. I'd say that qualifies as an endorsement.

I use them because it bothers me to spend that much for something that simple. I've used about 10 sets for various things. I've had issues with several. Mostly the stud breaks loose on the knurls a lot easier than it should due to them making a semi-universal blank and then adding whatever diameter stud they need. Simplifies production since they can use one hole size for the knurl and get several different sizes of threaded area.
