VERY easy to inadvertently activate, your hand rested right on the handle - combined with doors that unlocked when opening from the inside. I almost fell out of the car one time, fortunately it was going slow at the time...

I think those might be the chrome half-shields. I used to run them on my '65 and '66 Ramblers (4-headlight systems). It's definitely an old-school thing. I actually like 'em. However, I'm not sure if that's what they are, or if they're some kind of LED headlight, of which I'm not a fan.
I've seen the half shields but it was many moons ago , I thought the Nova lights were some Chinese Truck Lite knock offs , but I could be wrong.
Me thinks @Squatch nailed it on this one. I was thinking LED lights too before he mentioned the half covers.
There's a fairly distinct reflection on both sides.

I've seen too many good looking cars, trucks and Jeeps ruined with the wrong headlights, mostly cheap black LED ones.
The problem with all the LED headlites I've seen is that they're plastic. I'm running the H2 Hella GLASS headlites with LED "bulbs" installed.
I was looking on google maps today and clicked on a local drag strip I used to frequent. I found a couple of interesting pics that people have posted.
I think this is one of my buddy's cars. He likes to run these dirt track tires. When they get some heat in them, they like to throw rubber chunks. Going down the highway you can see the rubber flying by.
