In his younger days, my father worked for a guy who had one of these for his piano service and refurb business. The side ramp was apparently very handy.

My dad owned a restored black and silver one, with a red interior, back in the day. They're definitely a unique ride.

A 1932 American Bantam that was used for ferry service over the Pudding River in Oregon. The operator removed the tires and placed rubber bands on the rims for traction. Three cables were strung, two for the wheels and the third attached through the top of the car for stability. It was said that one gallon of gas was enough for 1500 trips across the 120 foot span.

Digging everything except the windshield aesthetics. Definitely an interesting ride!

Speaking aesthetically, the '63 is a sweet spot in the entire Galaxie series of cars, IMHO

The Galaxie has always been a favorite of mine too. Had a buddy in high school who owned one. I can't tell you what year anymore. He also had a F100 4x4 that he drove. I was a poor kid with a old 54 Dodge pickup so I liked helping him work on his rigs. He worked at the service station across the street from the rental store I worked at.
