Nobody is paying $1200 for cats when they were $300 at the beginning of the year. What are some alternative options? Why are the prices so high? Plandemic? Will they ever come down?

I do have a neighbor with a TJ...... Wonder if he would noticeAlternative option..... Steal one from your neighbors TJ.
I figured as much. Downright ridiculous. Guess I will live with this CEL foreverPrices are high because of the supply chain issues (which will be going on for years) and due to the very, very high amount of catalytic converter theft that has been rampant across the US.
You're absolutely right with the theft issue. About 6 months ago, I went to pull a G-van into the shop and noticed the loud exhaust.Prices are high because of the supply chain issues (which will be going on for years) and due to the very, very high amount of catalytic converter theft that has been rampant across the US.

Funny this is, a few weeks ago one of the techs went out back to pull a vehicle in. He heard a sawzall. Upon further investigation , he found some crackhead laying under a truck cutting out the converter. The Little Falls police arrested him.And thefts are up because prices high! A positive feedback loop like a spike in the stock market.
Just found out an hour ago than insurance decided to total my stepson's car for a stolen cat. When I started driving it was common for people to rip them out and trash em. Boggles the mind how things change. I'll be an old curmudgeon in no time.
The Magnaflow I dropped in my LJ was 482.00 back in 2018. it's now 1100.00.
There's a stamp on the CARB ones since they got "certified".Do you suppose there is any difference between the CARB approved and non-approved converters other than the nearly three times higher price? They look the same.
I've used it as an excuse to get out of a ticket for expired inspection. I just told the cop that the parts are on backorder. Not everybody uses the supply chain issue bullshit to jack up prices. Plenty of choices for under $300.

that was your mistake, should of jumped in and took the truck down the highway ! he was out of jail in a hour and back under another car !Funny this is, a few weeks ago one of the techs went out back to pull a vehicle in.
