Changing transfer case oil without removing skid plate

Today I was changing a transfer case oil
I didn't want to remove the skid plate, while I was planning my game plan, I came up with some idea. Cut the empty bottle in half taped a silicone tubing to it and placed it underneath the drain plug. See attached pictures.
Still spilled a little bit but I'm sure if I was more careful i wouldn't spill anything...
Maybe someone already came up with this idea, if not here you go.

I use a similar setup to refill my 6 speed. Funnel up above the door sill for easy no mess no drip-in-my-face fluid change.
