Cheap TJ upgrades

I was just wondering what modifications ya’ll have done to your TJ’s that didn’t require a bank loan to get done? Just some easy upgrades or something that didn’t require a lot of money? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Before doing any big "upgrades" I went for preventative maintenance. Unfortunately I am not done with my list yet:

• Spark Plugs (iridium)
• Differential Flush - done
• Transmission Flush - doing this week
• U-Joins (axles and both drive shafts)
• Wheel bearings (still under consideration)

In addition I am doing some small "creature comforts":

• Stereo Head - done
• Powered Sub - done
• Speakers - done
• Minor sound dampening

Hopefully by the spring I can get to the small (2.5") lift, body lift, and ZJ tie rod upgrade.

I picked up an Alien Sunshade early this past spring and had it on all summer. It really made it bearable when the sun beat down on you while the Jeep was stopped. Highly recommended.

For me, swapping in red LED’s behind the dash gauges reduced the eye strain for me.

Less than $20 if I remember right. Been a while.
