Checking lift height

What is the best way to determine what is the height of my suspension lift ? The person i bought the tj from said he thought it was 4 inches but he wasn't sure

The stock height of the springs is 12" in the front, 8" in the rear. Any length over that is lift.

If you take a photo of the springs / control arms (assuming they aren't stock) We may be able to narrow it down a bit in terms of who made them. Like @nk24 said though only sure way to tell is by measuring the springs.

Control arms look stock but springs dont, do i measure the springs while compressed or unloaded?
