I have the original Grey chipped key for my 04 Rubicon .. had one made at lowes ... the original stopped working as in the cpu don't recognize it anymore .. is there a fix for this or do I buy another 100 dollar key

Did the key from lowes ever work and if so does it still?
If it does, at least the Jeep is still drivable.
As for spending big money someone somewhere (here I think) mentioned getting a couple non chipped keys cut for about 1/10 the cost then just stashing the working chipped key way up under the dashboard and use the non chipped keys all the time.
I wish I would have read that before spending what I think was around $60 3-1/2 years ago.
I don't think doing that would add to the theft rate of TJs, or any vehicles. The amateurs wouldn't know the difference and the pros are more likely to use a truck of some sort to take it away.

Yes lowes key still works .. don't wanna leave a good key in the jeep so I'm guessing we gotta buy another key... no way to re ohm the original key??
How many working keys do you have? With two unique, not cloned keys, you can program a new key into the system.
