Colorado Colorado destination

Planning a 3 week cross country trip, the dates are fairly inflexible. I'll depart Virginia 10 may, and arrive southern California 3 June.

Had planned on ouray / telluride for a week prior to moab for another week, but it seems most trails in ouray area don't open until the second week of June.

Any other area of Colorado that has similar views / scenery and wheeling opportunities that will be open by Mid May?

IMO the Ouray/Telluride area is in a league of its own. Jackson hole is similar but it’s probably under even more snow. We had a great snow year so it’s going to take a while.
Check out the Aspen/Snowmass area. Mt. Sopris and the Maroon Bells area are spectacular! But again too much snow to get very far.
Grand Junction has lots of trails that will be open. Beautiful area in its own right but not the big granite peaks like the others. The local Jeep club has rock junction going on 30may - 2 june.
