It can be hard to compete with western landscapes and scenery sometimes, especially where every shot seems like it can be on a postcard.

I need to look for better shot placement. Roughly the same spot, yours was taken at a better angle than mine.

There are two major rules when composing a shot:
1) If something is in the picture, it should add to the picture... if something in the picture doesn't "add" to the composition, then it "detracts" from the composition...
2) the "Rule of Thirds" is still critical for everything but macro photography: https://learnprophotography.com/rule-of-thirds/

You would think that by now I could take better pictures. Time for me to read up on the "Rule of Thirds".
