Cooper Evolution MT's

Thanks for everyone's help with this. I was all set to buy Mickey Thompson's ATZ P3's but they are backordered until who knows when. So I went with 33x12.50-15 Cooper Evolution MT's. I've waited 12 years for 33's, that's how long it took my 32inch BFG Ko's to crack (Still with plenty of tread).

HA! That was there when I bought it, welded on. Now that I'm older, it works pretty good

Thanks! I have not put a lot of miles on them so you know. They do have a highway noise but it's not bad and I kind of like it. They do rub when I back at full turn, I did put the washers on the turn stops but they still rub a little. All in all, I like them!

I have Cooper Evolution MTs in 35s. Like them so far, the last two weeks they have proved themselves in the Florida rain. Little noisy over the 33 Pro Comp AT sports I had. Pro Comp decided to discontinue 33/15s. That was pretty stupid on their part. Coopers are working for me.

I bit the bullet yesterday and ordered Evolution 35 x 12.5 x 15 on Vision wheels. Research told me they're not as good as STT Pro in the mud (which I don't seek out) or rocks (but not by much), but superior in snow, on ice, and highway noise. Studable if I could afford 2 sets and if we still got snowy winters. Have KM2 in 33s on the XJ and they're fine but either get noisy with some wear or I'm imagining that..

Only driven them 70 or so miles, mixed street, highway and in the snow off road. So far so good. Considerably quieter then the 10k mile BFG KM2 33s on the XJ.

Yup. True 35s

Measured center of hub to top of tire on the LJ @ 17" so 34" tire (@26psi) if you're punching them into grimjeeper or such.

I prefer the Cooper STT Pro tires.

I was headed that way but the Evolutions are supposed to be considerably better in snow and wet, and quieter.
We do get snow at 5500' and up and once it hits it never goes away off-road and becomes hard packed and icy.

On the other hand they might not have the sidewall durability and rim protectors of the STT Pro.

The past couple of weeks we've gotten quite a bit of rain, at least by SoCal standards. I've been very impressed with their performance in the wet, especially under braking when I got caught at those 'tweener yellow lights.

The pictures of the Evos on your red LJ is what sold me on the looks. Your Jeep is awesome. I'm ordering a set in the next few weeks.

IMO: For wet driving I'd say they're pretty solid (The Evo MT). If you do much snow and ice driving, move along... Find something else.

Ok report back someone that's had these about a year now... they're pretty light for an MT, any punctures, any bad snow experiences, wet road..? Oh, how about balancing?
