Crankshaft position sensor

Have a had CEL problem for sometime now and continue to get these codes.

11* No crank reference signal detected during engine cranking.
11** Intermittent loss of either camshaft or crankshaft position sensor. CKP sensor target windows
have too much variation.
12* Direct battery input to PCM was disconnected within the last 50 Key-on cycles

I replaced the crankshaft sensor with a mopar one. Had codes cleared and after driving 10-15 miles, the check engine light came back on.

Can anyone help me out from past experiences? Thanks in advance.

Check your battery terminals. Take them off and clean them good and make sure they are tight when you put them back on. Each one of your sensors require 5 volts at start up. A lose connection or bad connection will and can cause this.

The sensors run on 5 volts, they don't pull 5 amps.

X2. Corroded and dirty cables can cause some funky issues.

I had a similar issue last year and found the wiring harness that feeds the CPS, CAM was not seated fully into the PCM, took me a long time to find. Not even sure how it came loose...

Also, the CAM and CPS error codes are the same for the early model TJs. If you pick up a new CAM sensor at the dealership, they will be listed under ignition pickup coil.
