Crate engine sourcing

Yea that’s kinda what I was thinking. For a couple hundred bucks I could get my old block machined and then rebuild it one piece at a time as money allows and then when it’s done I have a brand new engine with about 30 more horses ( from what I’ve read anyways) the 2.5 has gotten me everywhere I’ve needed to go and usually I’m just driving to and from work or picking my kid up from school

Never buy an ATK crate engine!!! After 2 junk engines(original purchase and a warranty engine, neither of which lasted 50 miles) purchased from Jegs, I can't get anyone from ATK or Jegs to respond. It's been months. I'm making this post to hopefully save someone the cost and trouble they have cost me. Looks like I'll have to sue.

I looked really hard at those remanufactured engines. You hear good and bad but when it’s bad it’s usually a nightmare. I’m glad I ended up finding a used engine for $300 locally even though it’s got more miles and a little noise coming from a piston on cold start ups. It’s giving me the time to rebuild my old engine completely and then when I get it finished I’ll swap them out and rebuild the second engine for a spare. Hopefully you get yours sorted out because I know how big of a pain in the ass it can be to have Jeep withdrawals lol
