Crossover steering issues

The Currie steering fits the stock taper on the knuckles, yours are likely drilled to 3/4”. You can weld new taper bushings in to go back to stock taper.

That sounds like a good route I just had everything off to do ball joints and wheel bearings so I’d hate to pull it all off again. I know a great welder too so that’s def what I’m going to do. Currie system seems to be my best bet bc this thing is like riding a bull right now.

Between here and FB groups I’ve seen so many similar posts recently. I got caught up in marketing hype around this type product years ago with XJ so feel the pain.

From the install video pitman arm and both knuckles drilled out to 5/8 so I assume all would need to be replaced to return to any type of stock setup including Currie.

I think some of it comes from the CJ days. Or maybe even the YJ days.

I have crossover steering but my front axle isn't even close to being stock. But I also have hydro assist.

If you are going to spend $500 on CurrectLync I wouldn’t look for fixes to other parts. I know is PITA to pull it apart yet again but knuckles and pitman arm shouldn’t be expensive to find from someone parting out a TJ. If was me I would swap them out so have no worries for steering as whole.

Finding another set of knuckles sounds way easier and cleaner than an insert.

Do they happen to make them bigger? The hole drilled out where the tie rod end will go was definitely drilled out to 5/8.

Have you had it aligned properly m. I know people like to advise against crossover steering but I and many others run it without issue. The only thing I noticed was a small amount of bump steer.

For the bushing, the hole is drilled out to 3/4” the outside of the bushing is 3/4” which is larger than 5/8”.

Finding another set would be “easier” installing another set of knuckles would be harder. The bushing is what is commonly used for the “ tie rod flip”. I did the flip on the driver side to raise the tie rod in about 20 minutes.

Maybe but a knuckle is also just 2 bolts and a hammer whack away from being replaced. I replaced mine when I flipped my tie rod as well since Blaine isn’t a fan of the inserts.

Just an update install went great ended up ripping it back apart and putting new knuckles on it. Going to be welding on new artec control arm brackets bc these stock ones are kindve beat up before I go get it aligned and hopefully all is well after that. Thanks for all the info guys

I'd look at different brackets. I bought Artec and refuse to put them on.... They hang low and will get caught in rocks.

While I haven't run Artec brackets, I've read enough bad stuff about them to not want to run them, I'll say that.

Spoke to a welder I know he’s going to reinforce the OEM bracket and add a plate underneath it said it works fine for him
