Hey guys just checking if anyone else has had a problem with the Currie currectlync bushings ripping? Both bushing on my knuckle ends ripped. I know the ends are rebuildable however, I don’t think the ball joint is compromised or has any play in it yet. Just curious if rockjock sells new bushing so that I can take the tie rod end off and just replace the bushing.

Looks like a standard tie rod end boot. It’s common for them to rip.

When I purchased the Currie steering for my '98 XJ I replaced the rubber boots on the tie rods with the poly; they have lasted for almost 20 years.
At some point the tapered holes got wallowed a bit which allowed the pin to move up higher than it should which is what is tearing up the boots.
That long ago, the hex where the tie rod attaches to the draglink was not a hex but instead, an oversized version of the round stock one.
That is exactly what Max from Currie said when he saw the pictures. He also recommended a taper insert from Teraflex.

I was trying to do some research on this taper insert but haven’t seen much reviews on it. Any thoughts on the fact that this may cause premature ball joint damage in the tie rod? I loaded some grease up in them to keep water and dirt out even though the boot is ripped. Not sure if that will help at all.
