Custom Console

A seat swap swap got me started, then I customized transfer case handle which lead to me ripping out the entire console. (Lock was broken by previous owner and sub was pooched)

So I designed a centre and front console and ammo can combination. Made a cardboard model and drew up plans and took it to a local fella to have him weld it up. I made the thing one long piece so it raises the can to the perfect height for an arm rest and avoids emergency brake taking up the entire inside of can when mounted. Of course it had to get powder coated to match the rest of the Jeep. Installed the console last night and the can goes on today. I’ll post another picture when it’s all finished.

This is phenomenal. You just one upped Genright. They cannot even make something like this. I was on the phone with them and they will only make them for automatics.

Some Tiberon seats from the scrapyard. It’s amazing what you can do when you’re bored during quarantine.

I also looked at Genright but I have the manual. Spent a couple of nights trying to figure it out, mocked it up out of heavy cardboard then took finished plans to welder. The ammo can I just kept screwing around with because I was bored. Made the armrest myself and then put the extra cup holder on the back because ..... why not right?

I really like them. I’m a big guy 6’2” and 250+lbs. They are super comfortable for me. I got both seats for $40. Then I got some old tj seat frames and took the seats apart. I used somebody’s old post on bars to mount. My seat even has lumbar adjustment. Had to fiddle around and lose all the plastic molding because it kept getting in the way of seatbeat stuff on the bottom. Cheap and worth it. Sits a bit low but because I’m tall that was a bonus for me.
