Dana 44 yoke question

I am in the process of upgrading my stock rear Dana 44 with gears, ARB air locker and chromoly axle shafts. I have the factory yoke with the straps that bolt on from the front. Is it okay to reuse the factory yoke, or should I replace it with the style that has u-bolt straps? Is there an advantage to either style? Thanks in advance.

Stay with the factory style that uses straps not U-bolts which are way more than strong enough. U-bolts make it too easy to overtighten them and damage the bearings under the bearing caps.

It's the yoke that provides the strength to hold the u-joint, the strap just keeps the bearing cap seated all the way down into it.
