Dan's Rubi

Sucks to hear any OHV closing because of politics. Slick Rock is an awesome trail, and it's nice to have Lake Alpine right there for camping/fishing. I hear the new bypass is quite sporty!
Yea I love slick rock I took my xj there a few times but it’s been like 8 years. Now my son is 6 so I want to do a family wheeling and camping trip. Once I get the date set in stone I will post it up and try to get as many people as I can to go. Last time I went we had a group of 6 with a lot of near stock Toyota’s so it was fun watching them try to not scratch or mess up their new trucks. Lol

Looks good so far! It's always a nice feeling when you get those brand new, shiny suspension parts on there.

I got the rear end all done now all I have to do is bleed the brakes and she is ready to wheel! I also found out I have a banks muffler lol

Could you clock the zerk fittings on the arms? I’m currently shopping for adjustable arms? The front zerks easy to get to with the Jeep sitting on its tires? I see the rear zerks are pointed toward the front and the front zerks are pointed to the rear.

Yea they can easily be pointed where ever you need them to be I didn’t have my grease gun at home when i installed everyththing I have moved them to make it a little easier to lube. I think I might change out the front lower control arm upper zerks to low profile ones and have them on the bottom. There should be enough of the bracket hanging down that they won’t get ripped off

So I’m sadly coming to the realization that I’m not going to be able to do all the wheeling like I did with my last xj because of my wife and my new work and family schedule but I do get to drive my rubi daily if I want to(6 miles round trip)so I have been thinking about doing some good power upgrades instead. Has anyone here have any experience with the banks sidewinder turbo system? I’m thinking with that I can still have fun driving around town and when I get the chance to go wheeling I will have a bunch of extra power to have fun(or fuck shit up with lol)

I ordered the jrc weld your self rear bumper and I got it all bent up then found out I lost my 10lb spool adapter. So hopefully I can find one tomorrow. Here is the process so far.

I went to the local ohv park today but there 4x4 area was closed but we got to play a little off to the side. It was my first time wheeling with a 4to1 low and man did that make it easy. Also was my first time with a manual transmission and with the low gear the clutch was not needed at all. I just got a few pictures with my son and the jeep. He had a blast!

So my buddy heated the winch bumper that came with his TJ when he bought it. So I built him this simple bumper today and he gave me his old bumper and wench because I work on all of his cars for free. Seems like a good deal to me. The first picture is what I made him and the second is what I got for it. The bumper I got needs to be cleaned up and it need some more mounts welded on and the wench need a new line.

Cleaned up and painted the front bumper today. I also moved the stock fog lights up to the top of the bar but I’m not sure if I will leave them there or not. I still need to get new line for the wench and get it mounted and wired up. What do you guys think?
