Does anyone use this stirrup side step?

Know a guy around here who has a similar setup to the second one for his wife (I think she's under 5ft or so) has em held in my the seat bolts. They've been using em for years and she seems to like em.

I've had a lifted truck for the past 10 years and I would use the tube step for getting into the truck but when getting out I just always kind of slid out of it as the tube step wasn't in the correct place to step on it as I got out.
I just bought a new truck and have a Power Board on it and I love these things. So I am just not sure how these stirrups will help to get out.

I made a set with some 1" leather, sewing kit and stirrups with a nice grippy surface. When you step on it it moves under the rig slightly, then you grab your grab bar and transfer your weight to the step. After getting in you just set them inside the door between the seat and tub. I got them for my shorter wife and smaller kids. They don't use them if that tells you anything. I use them occasionally.

I got the idea from a local guy who has them for his wife. I recently heard that she hurt her ankle using them. I'm not a big proponent. I'll probably sell mine on here some time. I think they are worth it in some situations. They attach under the outer front seat bolt. They are as nice as they come with plenty of room for your foot.

Yeah, they don't do anything for getting out. Egress is easier than ingress for most people. But if you're older and have hip or knee problems, I wouldn't recommend getting in a lifted Jeep.

I have the second one. I’m unimpressed. When you step on it, your leg tends to want to swing under the Jeep. Then when you apply weight, the whole thing slides along the tub to the front of the Jeep. I should have returned it right away. For me, it’s useless. I wanted it for my wife. But, I’m afraid she will hurt herself if she uses it.

We have the same one... my wife has been using it for the past 6 months or so, she likes it.

I get they aren't cheap and I don't know how much abuse they can take. But if you have mobility issues and can't get your leg up to that bar then what?

My point is the step folds down and then retracts. It isn't for everyone and I wouldn't install them on my Jeep. But some people go to great lengths to accommodate their needs. I have the Amp Power Boards on my truck and they cost almost as much.

It's actually closer to 7", and yes, it made a huge difference as a step. Think of it this way, say your Jeep was to the point you could barely get in it, then lift it another 7" and see what it's like. 7" makes a very noticeable difference, whether going higher or lower.

Another way to look at it, if I have a 4" lift, and 3-4" bigger tires than a stock TJ, I'm about 5.5-6" taller than stock, so these steps make it easier to get into than a stock Jeep with no steps, yet they don't hang low and look mall crawler.
