I’m rebuilding my front driveshaft on my 2005 X. I’ve got the double cardan back together. I did the ujoints towards the driveshaft first. A little stiff but move freely and I got the clips on with no problem. I put a new centering ball in with plenty of grease And then did the rear ujoints. When I move the end of the cardan up and down when I go from it stopped, I get a little notch. Once it starts moving it will move free. I’m 99% sure I don’t have any needle bearings out of place as I greased the cups and made sure I engaged the cross into the cup.
I’m thinking the dustboot may be sticking a little on the centering ball yoke. I didn’t grease the outside of the centering ball yoke which may be causing this?
Anyone seen this before?
