By the time you figure in the cost of the smaller tires, you won't notice any savings from the improved MPG until they need to be replaced again; especially with the price of gas on the rise (AGAIN!)

Don’t hold back, . Same vehicle, moved from a P to a “D” backed to a P over a 10 year period. 1 mpg is a reasonable highway gain From my experience

Narrow tires will help a bit.

Slowing down and taking off easy from a start also gets better gas mileage.

Milage is relative. My 2018 F250 6.2L gets a solid 8.6 mpg. I never run less than 1/4 tank and have to fill up every 3-4 weeks.
BTW my 05 TJU gets 14 mpg.

With the stock 30x9.5s, my LJ averages around 18. No complaints with that at all. I had a 85 Bronco II with the 2.8 V6 and 4.10s. It averaged 10 to 12 mpg. The main saving grace with that one was I didn't owe money on it.

I got 15 on the tank I filled up this morning...no idea why it parted from my 12.4 average so significantly but I knew something was up when I saw 200 on the trip meter and the fuel light hadn't come on yet.
