Eaton E Locker in a 2.5

I've read discussions on truetrack LSDs and realize my 97 3.73 is worn out. Verified yesterday when in gravel, only the right rear tire spun.
Since :
the 2.5 lacks some torque, and
I may only trail ride 1x/month, and
It's my dd...
Can I get by with an Eaton E Locker and keep my 27 spline axles OR
should I upgrade to 30 spline on my 31s?

Did your TJ come with a Traclok limited slip? You can do an E locker but is isn't advisable on stock shafts. For mild to moderate use am27 spline hardened shaft will work. Anything more and you should go to the 30 spline kit.

It's a Dana 35, I assume maybe wrong that's stock equipment ? The traclock I mean, I have whatever came with a stock 3.73 dana 35

Whatever I have by now is worn out so time to upgrade (or budget for) a 30 spline kit....
