The brass is pretty stripped and chewed up at this point. I kind of panicked. Do you know how to get a replacement?

If you look at the picture of me holding it. There’s like an outer brass piece.
it doesn’t come on the new sensor.
I've never worked on the 2.4 liter but I have changed a couple different temp sensors.
I think the part I marked as red is the temp sensor and the part marked yellow is what it screws into. It appears to be a pressed in part but I'm not sure why the o ring would be part of that.
I tried to do some random searching but couldn't find out what it's called, if it's easily replaceable or if whatever it was pressed into needs replaced.

Looks like you actually need to replace the entire housing.

YES! I think that’s it.
do you know if that’s for the 4 cylinder? Also now I’ll have to try and figure out how to replace that

I’m not great with this stuff but I can do minor repairs if I have videos to follow.

Hit the Resource section and download the Factory shop manual for your Jeep, there should be detailed info.
So I’m looking at the housing, only one of the three bolts to remove it look easily accessible. Man I just feel like I’m going to have to take it in...
