(Engine experts needed) Chirp, Vibe, Pop (What is Wrong?)

This is the video from a few days ago: Link
Maybe it’d be imperceptible but if the tranny was causing feedback all the way to the belt you’d think it’d be noticeable on the tach. If I’m following your video it looked like it was moving based on load or user input, I didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary.

It wasn't a whiplash inducing lurch. Not enough to make the tires chirp like when you downshift too early on a manual. Maybe a 1-2mph difference? I wish I had more GoPros to take video of every angle. But then you guys would want drone footage.

I’ll have a drone for sale soon ;)

One option I could do is buy a built 42RLE from ATS Diesel and bolt it in to see if it solves the problem. If it does, leave it, if it doesn't, Mrs. Toximus' transmission has been alright but isn't loving life on hot days anyway and I could swap hers before it has real issues.

I'd rather not spend the money right now on replacing her transmission since it doesn't need it yet.

No.

Still seems like throwing darts and hoping for a bullseye.

I’m curious to see @mrblaine ’s thoughts on the video

Yeah unless you have hard evidence, I wouldn’t drop that sort of cash on a trans just yet!

I’m honestly hoping I’m way wrong and it’s simple!!! But I also love the LS swap idea even more. THEN you won’t never financially recover! 😂

I agree.

At this point you're all seeing the same thing I am. If there's not enough information or something I'm missing tell me what it is because I'm all out of ideas of what to look at, feel, take videos of.

I’m trying to figure out what the smell could be, was it from the exhaust?

Lots of things going on in that video. Watched it a couple of times now, and the belt develops some instability before it finally pops. Look around the 28 second mark. It's running pretty true, but then it flutters. Not as bad as when you hear the pop, but still pretty bad.

It's also hard to tell, but it almost looks like the supercharger bracket is moving or vibrating. Might just be the camera not being rigidly mounted too, but I don't think so. Could you add some sort of brace to the bracket? Doesn't have to be anything fancy, just something to see if you can change the behavior.

I'm thinking some sort of resonance is going on... Don't know what yet, but there is something...

I didn't see any smoke and it was sunny out so I think I would have. Ever since I sealed off the tailgate I haven't gotten much exhaust fumes I suppose it could be a possibility. It didn't smell like normal exhaust.

I ask because I’m wondering if it was a backfire of some sort.

Maybe you need to pull the SC and revert to stock.

I think that's the image stabilization on the video combined with the perspective. I can upload it without image stabilization. I took a couple of other video angles under normal driving (no pop) so I'll get those uploaded.

You could always pressure test the transmission.

Seeing that says fluid must be at operating temperature (150 - 200F)... My transmission has been unable to get over 130F due to my cooler and the weather. I did disconnect the cooler and ran it up to 190F and it chirped.

Non stabilized video

The SC support bracket attaches to the SC nose and steering pump bolts. The SC is bolted down to the intake manifold.
