Engine running rough after over-filling oil

Yes, we verified last week. The tech said he thought six quarts were required when in fact only five is needed. Have it stated on the paperwork on my bill. It truly could be a coincidence, but just seems odd that nothing was running bad at all, and as soon as I picked it up, started to run a little rough, then continually increased. Again, I'm taking back in tomorrow and have them drain and change filter out with new oil, hopefully at their expense. Thanks for the input...

What does your owner's manual say for the fill capacity?

4.0 takes 6 qts.

I am guessing this is all a coincidence....

Just got back from having them change out oil and filter, again. Same problem. Sounds rough, and when coming to stop, just before idle, engine starting shaking like the devil. Then once stopped, it becomes somewhat smooth. Think I'll look at changing out the Idle Control Valve. You say not too difficult? May give it a try and see what happens. Thanks.

I think a new one was around $35, so buying a new one is a good idea. I kept the old one just in case, and cleaned it up again as best as I could. They are really easy to remove. While you are at it, might as well clean the throttle body too.

If it was running good before. They may have unplugged vacuum line or sensor. Ether on purpose or accidentally thinking they might get lucky and get to charge you for nothing. Is it throwing codes. A tire shop tried it on me one time. You should have seen there face when I pulled out a scanner from the glove box, scanned it and opened the hood and plugged the knock sensor back in. Of course they denied it.
