Good evening. I heard a pop while driving, the pop came from near the rear of my 99 TJ, then experienced a fun case of what felt like icy driving while going down the road --despite the fact that there's no ice yet. I get home to inspect and see this on the rear passenger side of the rig (see attachment)

I believe this to be the track bar bracket but would like to confirm.

That's the rear track bar bracket and your track bar is no longer attached to it. No wonder it felt like you were driving on ice!

That's dangerous to drive without it attached, fix that ASAP! I can't see enough to determine how it broke (if the bolt snapped or the bracket itself did).

Thank you for getting back to me!

It's the bracket that snapped. The bolt is still in tact.

The jeep was purchased with a 2.5" lift. This appears to be the factory bracket. I'm thinking extra strain over the history of the rig?

The simpler explanation is probably that it rusted out. I'm guessing Alaska is a pretty tough environment.
