Evil e-torx bolts

My 05 has a plastic panel on the tunnel around the shifter, underneath the center console. Held on by 8 or 10 10mm and 8mm bolts. If you have that as well which I think all this do? Pull your center console, shift lever and that plastic panel. It gives you pretty good access to those bolts

Here's the only picture I have showing the panel

Is the drivetrain tipped down enough so you can reach the bolt with an angle grinder or at least a Dremel tool? If so, I'd cut the top of the bolt off flush with the surface of the transmission bell housing so the transmission can be removed. Once the transmission is off you can use pliers or vise grips to unscrew the remaining part of the bolt protruding from the engine block. Without tension on it, that remaining part of the bolt will be easy to unscrew and have enough of it still protruding from the block to easily grab it was pliers or vise grips.

That would probably work. Get a new high quality bit (that bolt might be a hardened grade) just slightly larger than the diameter of the threads to make sure the head gets drilled cleanly off and doesn't leave a ridge that could get stuck in the hole as you separate the trans from the motor. Then some new hex bolts, good luck!

Thru various bodily contortions I was able to cut off the offending bolt with a dremel. Now the question is how to I remove the coolant lines? Another special tool? Or are the pried out? I really can't get a wrench on the bolts. Thanx for all the help and advise.
