Extended Length Lug Nuts

I am hearing that the extended length lug nuts will only work with some custom wheels.
Am wondering it this is true ? Does a stock jeep wheel have enuf room in the holes for the
extended part of the EL nuts to fit into ?
I want to use them for the rear of my jeep. The lugs are too short for some strange reason
and I think this is normal.
Any insight on this ?

Why not replace the studs with longer ones? I did mine when I added wheel spacers. It was pretty simple, didn't have to remove anything other than the wheels and the drums.

Thicker rims at the mounting holes need longer studs for the nuts to engage. It's easy enough to check. Offset, rim diameter, etc. does not (necessarily) change the length of the wheel stud you need.

You can purchase longer studs on Rock Auto for a 98 ZJ with disc brakes OR just go on Summit Racing or Jegs and they will have them.

I have a set of ET lug nuts I use with my ProComp wheels. I just went out and checked an extra one I had with the OEM Ravine wheels and they did not fit through the hole.

I can’t speak for all ET lug nuts, but these are the ones I have.

I use ET lug nuts on my present Walker Evans wheels and previously on American Racing's AR 23 wheels.
