Extra mode gear snap ring with SYE kits?

Why do some kits come with a second large snap ring for the output shaft? Is it just an extra?

This kit has it.

This kit doesn't.

But this one does.

I've watched a boatload of videos and read through multiple write ups to make sure im not leaving a snap ring off somewhere.

My only thought is they're including extra rings JIC.

How many times have you accidentally flung a snap ring into orbit when it slips off? I've done it more times than I can count.

Also possible the kit covers both 231s and Rubicon cases.
