I really like your design. I can see part of the receiver on the other side of the rear crossmember. How did you do that?

I have an LJ, so I was able to bolt it to the second crossmember. I cut through the bottom of the outside crossmember to make it removable.

My idea. It's just 4" x 3/4 bar stock. I took it to a shop premarked; they did the bolt holes and cut out for the hitch.
On an older jeep, I made a similar one out of 1/2" bar stock. No hitch, but I cut and drilled everything by hand.

I really don't remember, it was 8 years ago. 30 lbs maybe?
Plus 14 bolts & nuts. I also added frame tie-in brackets later.

Here is the rear I built for my rig. It swings both ways, so to speak. I did a build thread on it over at the other place.
