Fender extension body nut removal


It will pull a bit when you tap them down flush. Not really a concern unless you were leaving it exposed.

Unrelated, but I was about to slip into a Sunday afternoon recliner snooze when I saw this photo and for a second I thought I was looking at one of the new shots from the James Webb space telescope. 🤣

I had planned to drill mine out, but like many of the nutserts for the flares they just spun.
Ended up grinding them as much as I could without touching paint and then tapped them through with a punch. Actually pretty easy job, but time consuming.

That said, I was replacing the flares and needed to replace the nutserts that were spinning. If I weren't going to use them again, I would gently tap them in flush. The sheet metal isn't that tough and tapping them in is easier than one might imagine
