Fender flare extensions

Rubicons or non? Either way, if they are in good shape then OEM's sell for around $50 to $75. Might even squeeze out a C note. Rubicons are little wider and the sought after OEM flare.
Here's the ones that I have...
I received these with a pair of silver front flares that I bought to replace a damaged one on our '03. The paint is not great on either one of them, so they surely aren't worth top dollar, but are they worth trying to sell?

You could put them up on Facebook Marketplace and see what you get. But as you'll see, it's easy to find Crown or Omix replacements on sites like Quadratec.

But I'm a little surprised that they are silver. I thought that painted flares came on Saharas, but Saharas don't come with those pieces. Maybe they come off some kind of special edition?

You got me there, iirc, they were supoposedly from an '06 model, but I cannot recall any specifics.

Our '03 'Freedom Edition' has painted flares, but the extensions are black.

those are news to me. I wonder how they measure 5.5"? They don't look wider than the Rubi and Sahara flares, which we usually call 4.5".

I would consider this a viable alternative to OEM for me. They don't look obnoxiously wide in the photos.
I found them the other day and thought they would be perfect for wider tires or wheels with less backspacing.

Hurricane by Rugged Ridge. Not pretty but better than the OEM 6" look. I've got 33X12.5 KM2s on 15" rims. They cover the tire pretty well. I've had kids standing on the rear flares. I've put weight on the fronts. Like others I wish they would sell a set of metal bolt on fender flares similar to these that didn't involve cutting.

Better than these dang pocket flares the PO installed on mine… tires catch them when fully flexed

They're 1.25" wider than the Rubicon 4.25" wide flares. I was going to test out a set until I saw the RC logo stamped on them. Maybe I could cover it with a Shittybilt decal. ;)

I'd rather it not be there, but I'm much more ok with it there than on any component of my suspension or armor and the size could be a lot worse. At least it's not a foot long and reflective like the bestop logo on my soft top. 🤣

Have you seen a direct comparison? They just don't look that much wider to me. Like they're measuring to a different location in the flare so it's not apples to apples or something.

See my avatar, my '03 Sahara came with the extensions. Not going to be on there much longer though, Santa brought me sliders and flat fenders.

They look wider in the video to me. I might order a set and compare them to my stock Rubicon flares. I can always sell the ones I don't want.

Interesting. What year was that? On Saharas, I've always seen the larger rocker covers that run the whole length of the rocker.
