@JamesAndTheSahara. It's a Spidershade, but when they sent it they sent the LJ version on mistake. I tried it on and preferred it for the coverage in the back so I just kept it. Sometimes a mistake turns out to be a good thing...Definitely doesn't get in the way of the rear cargo. Never noticed any problem with vision, though I'm looking through it in the rear view mirror. I bet you could do the same with an AlienShade
I've had Spiderweb shades top for years. They've made a few changes over the years on their description of tops, but for the most part been a great product. Here's a throwback from the past when I was on 31's and their first gen SW1 top. Wish I kept the jeep that way.
Here are some pics from the back and one looking through rear view mirror and one from side so you can consider the arc of coverage. Not sure if you have kids or adults riding in the back. When I get in the back my head rubs the shade. Not killer but cozy, and I'm 5' 6". I'm in the garage so lighting would be better outside. Hope these help.Yeah going to order the LJ version for my TJ! A peer of mine has the Spidercage with full coverage and its just not my cup of tea. Neither is the TJ Extended top which doesn't cover the passengers heads fully.
Also, looking at it I was thinking you could fold the very back up as much as you like to avoid it coming so far down. They're very adaptable as you know.
It was a good experience. Trails marked on both ends would have helped bc there are lots of ATV only trails and it can get confusing.
The folks were easy going, didn't try to sell me on stuff. Answered question on a need to know basis.
Definitely kid friendly. Had to sign a waiver for them.
Facilities were top notch. Camping, RV sites available, a shooting range that was superb. Air compressor stations to air back up. Good map.
$25/day driver. Kids were $5/each
Sure, it could do some of them. But if you look at the map, most of their trails are 4 diamonds and up, whereas a stock Jeep probably should stick to 1-3. You might compare our clearances. I'm 13 1/8" at lowest point under skid and 15 1/4" under oil pan. Not sure what stock clearances are.
If you come up from Houston area let me know. I'll bring my wife to cook! LOL. Since your making the trip I'll pay your entry fees.
