Hello!

Brand new to the Jeep community. The wife really wanted one and I obliged but may have rushed into one. Bought a 2006 TJ X, 4.0 I6 with 86K miles. She's in great shape, but came with a nasty death wobble. Any suggestions on where to start? The front suspension looks to be stock with 86K miles on it so should I just start with new bushings and tightening everything up? My gut says just do a fresh front suspension kit since I don't know what has been done previous, but my wallet says *YIKES*. Another intent of the purchase was to have something me and my 11yo son can wrench on so we are ready to do some in depth work. Any suggestion would be appreciated!

Excited to be here and joined because I already came across such great info here such as:

Looking forward to getting her fixed up and dirty!

Welcome to the forum! There sure is a lot of folks on here from Florida.

With death wobble, the first place to start is to make sure the track bar bolts are torqued to the proper spec.

Also, make sure you know the difference between vibrations and death wobble, as they are two very different things.

Vibration, or death wobble?

Thank you! We are in the panhandle! Still doing research and trying to figure out this wobble and what the best route to go with fixing it. Any insight would be helpful!
