I started getting a p0344 code about a week ago in my 05 LJ. Opda replaced over a year ago with crown unit and using stock cam sensor. It was accompanied with slightly erratic speedo movement and random engine hesitation. I have 157k on the odometer and figured it was the cam position sensor. Replaced it with the echlin unit from Napa. Still same issue. Checked my engine grounds. Still same issue. On my trip yesterday the speedo went really crazy. Then I remembered I have the healtech speedo helper I installed last summer for my jb Supersport sye. I pulled over, unplugged it at transfer case. Cleared the code and everything is now good to go. Trying to warranty the healtech and I have a backup cam sensor.
How did you fix your p0034 code besides a new sensor? We should put a list together of possible fixes.
