My front passenger seat stopped tumbling this morning. I went to get some things from the back seat. I used the latch on the back bottom of the seat to fold and tumble the seat. I heard a pop sound and then the seat would not tumble. I can still fold it forward with both the latch in the back and the nylon strap. But it will not tumble forward. I can get it to tumble forward when I manually move the latch underneath the seat.
I guessing my problem is the cable broke. Before I spend $50 on a cable (complete rip off) or attempt to make my own cable from a bike brake cable, I thought I would check with everyone here and confirm my suspicion. I noticed that my cable had come unhooked underneath (the S type fitting that attaches to the latch). I was hopeful that that is all it was. When I put it back in place, it did not fix the issue.
My Jeep is a 2000. I don't know if that makes a difference since it has the older style of seats in it.
