Fuel level sending unit recommendations?

Yes, according to Amazon, that one fits a 2002 4.0 TJ.

I’m always a little weary about Amazon fitment confirmation based off reviews people leave about how products don’t fit.
Will I definitely need to replace the entire assembly, like the strainers and the pressure regulator, or can I get away with just the pump and sending unit

I looked it up outside of Amazon though, and it confirmed that it does indeed fit. I've found Amazon is wrong on occasion, but not too often.

All you'd really need to replace is likely the sending unit, but doing the pump at the same time would be smart. It's one of those jobs where you only want to have to do it once.

Thanks Chris. Between the long cranks and totally inaccurate gauge I might as well do both. Heard a few claim better throttle response as well.

If you're having the long crank issue, I'd suggest replacing the entire assembly as @TJ4Jim suggested.

This is why it’s taken me so long to replace.. I can’t make up my mind here. It’s difficult since I want Bosch, but they only come as a fuel pump alone (or so I’ve seen), or I’d have to buy the entire assembly some offbrand chinese one.
Though I personally haven’t had many issues with chinese’s parts in the past on my BMWs, I don’t know how Jeeps would like it. Might just have to sack up and look for an entire delphi assembly and call it a day.

Well a quick search and I appear to have found a whole bosch assembly on advance auto parts. Not local pickup but I might spend the extra bucks to have it shipped quickly so I can have it replaced by thursday night.

Rock Auto has the Delphi complete assembly available for a decent price.

Think I’ll just be ordering up that one to save me a little money for this trip. Still have to change the oil and find a used 32” for a spare. After that it’ll just be more money in booze food and other things anyway (y)

Edit: Got it ordered. Gonna grab a fuel filter off amazon while I’m at it. Anything else I should grab? Not sure if the assembly comes with the o ring to seal it all up.

The fuel filter and sock filter are included with the pump, no need to purchase any other filters. My Delphi also included the rubber seal.

Well now I’m pissed cause I ordered from rockauto to find out literally a few minutes later the autozone near me has the Delphi in stock. I cancelled my order with rockauto asap, no customer service leaves me kinda unsettled, but hopefully there shouldn’t be an issue.

They do carry it but it's like $70 more than Rock. Good option if you're in a hurry but money out the window if you're not.

Well I said in my first post that AutoZone carried the Delphi pumps. LOL
Ah you said back then so I wasn’t sure if it was still a thing. Regardless the Rockauto order actually refunded within a couple hours back in my account and the dude at autozone gave me 20% off, I got the unit for $185 after tax which was around $30 more than Rockautos but whatever. Stuck carriage bolts on the gas tank so I guess it’s gonna be done tomorrow instead.

Good luck it's a PITA

Armed and ready with some dremel cut off discs.. Gonna try and cut two ends of the nut up and down and knock the two pieces off with a screwdriver or something. Luckily, the other two to the left and right loosened fine.
