Fuel rail

I picked up a used fuel rail from an earlier model so I can easily test fuel pressure. The older one doesn't have the silver part in the middle. Any idea what it's for? I'm also going to replace the injectors since most of them are cracked. Has anybody used the reman Mopar ones?

It's basically a shock absorber for the fuel system. It helps minimize the pressure spikes when injectors close.

You'll never know the difference. They've been known to leak occasionally as well so you can take it as a preventive measure.

Didn't want to start a new thread so I'll add to this one. What's the best way to clean up the corrosion in the injector ports? Also, where could I find a cap for the schrader valve?

I used scotchbrite and wiping it with brake clean.

Looks like an ac charging cap would work off an old r12 car-truck
