Half Doors

Hey guys, been off of here for a while working on other projects but it's time to get back to the Jeep. I picked up a pair of color matched half doors with the toppers for $400 5 miles from my house, I know I stole them for that price. I need black hinges, new mirrors and to paint the interior panels to match the 99 black interior. its not like a Jet black these days so does anyone know of a good rattle can that will match the black interior? Also best place to but the hinges and mirrors, Im thinking Quadratec or Extreme Terrrain unless I can find them on here or Ebay.

Does it match the 27 year old black well?? Just trying to get the same look as the full doors.

It will be close , here is a thread on this , it looks like he used dark slate gray which may match the faded panels better

My impatience got to me. While going down the rabbit hole in search for Half door interior panels in Dark Slate grey, several forum members and some threads mentioned painting the panels I had. After doing some further research on paint prep, I'm happy to share the following.

I prepped the panels by taping off the interior pocket to avoid excess spray, although the color is very close to dark slate grey. Next, I wiped the panels down with acetone to clean off any grease. Following, scuff up the surface with scotch-brite followed by another wipe down with acetone. Then, I used a bottle...

The SEM Landau Black is BLACK. Way too dark to even remotely match the factory Agate and Slate colors. I know because I have some and have used it. If you want that contrast, then it’s fine.

Otherwise wait for the aftermarket panels to hit the market. Or pay $$$ for a factory set.

I ran into the same issue. Dyeing or painting the panels was in the long-term plan… but then I stumbled onto a set of later-model half doors with the interior panels in the color I wanted at a salvage yard. I swapped over those panels to my doors, then resold a complete set of half doors.

Keep an eye out and maybe you’ll get lucky.
