Hey all, I was referred here by another member who I had "met" on another forum. I have had my 98 TJ for a little over three years now. I am active duty Army and currently stationed at FT Drum NY. I have been a mechanic most my life and have been doing it for the last 17 years in the Army. I love helping people and love working on just about anything. here is a pic of my 98 SE as of last summer. Glad to be part of this forum.

Welcome to the forum, I'm former Army myself (11B).

Still a 4 cylinder in there or no?

yes sir still rocking the 2.5. Have driven about 4 times now round trip between here and VA (home). 650 miles one way. She has about 213K on the clock. Thanks for your service Chris, I was with the Infantry from 2005-2012 but I am a 91 Series. Though I did serve as a First Sergeant in an Infantry company from 2010-2012

I suppose after 17 years you'd definitely be up there in the ranks, what rank are you now?

I was stationed with the 2nd ACR which became the 4th brigade of the 2nd ID. I was at Fort Lewis, Washington with the Stryker Brigade, and somehow I ended up as an 11B attached to a cavalry unit oddly enough.

Anyways, nice to have you on board, and thank you for your service as well!

Well when I was a 1SG in the infantry BN I was a newly promoted SFC/E7. Currently I am an E8/1SG. I will likely retire at this rank as I will do my 20 and be done so I can go home and be with my wife and kids.

I hear ya, after 20 years you deserve the retirement for sure. Hopefully the wife and kids are at least nearby!
